summer to autumn transition

 Outfit Details
Cardigan: Uniqlo
Dress: Oasis
Scarf: H&M (Gifted)
Leggings: El Cortes Ingles (Lisbon)
Socks: TK Maxx
Boots: H&M

Whilst looking through my wardrobe I found this dress that I picked up in the Oasis sale a couple of years ago for only £5! Although the dress is more for summer I thought I'd wear it as I've only wore it once before. I teamed it with my long thick woolen cardigan, leggings, long woolen socks and boots to give it more of an autumnal feel to the outfit.

Hey Guys!

The clocks went back yesterday (yay! an extra hour of sleep =D) and it seems to be getting colder and darker so it's time to break out my coat. I picked up this military inspired coat from my aunt who was getting rid of it. I loved the colour so gladly took it off her hands along with a matching scarf. I teamed the coat with another military style piece; a dress from Next. I love this dress. It has got me through many occasions: meetings, interviews and even my graduation! It is a great staple piece in my wardrobe.

the little black shoe

The Little Black Shoe
All shoes from BarrattsSandal £50 | Bootie £29.75 | Platform | Pointed Toe £30 | Lace £45 | Midheel £25| Flats £20 | Ankle Strap £12 | Peeptoe £74| Glitter £20
The Christmas party season is almost upon us. Both of us have been on the hunt for some cute party shoes we can rock. As a general rule, if our outfit is quite sparkly and colourful, we like to go for some glamourous classic shoes. However if our outfit is more on the plain side then we would go for some fabulous stand out sparkly, sequined, colourful shoes. This time we're looking for a pair of black shoes to complement our sparkly outfits!

Whilst looking for some shoe inspiration we came across a competition to win £70 worth of Barratts shoes. So we thought why not have a browse on the site and see what we could find. We found so many amazing options, it was so hard to whittle it down to just to two (one for each of us) options.

We ended up going off on a tangent and this is what we came up with...The Little Black Shoe!

Now we have all heard of the little black dress. The dress that fits you like a glove, which always saves the day, whatever event it may be. The dress you can always rely on when you can't find anything to wear. The dress that gives you that extra burst of confidence when you put it on.

We believe everyone should also own the little black shoe. A fabulous pair of shoes that goes with any outfit. The shoe that is comfortable but stylish. The shoe you never tire of wearing. The shoe that makes you hold your head up high and walk down the street like you own it.

We understand that everyone has their own preferences and style so we have a variety of options to give you guys some inspiration, anything from platforms to flats and everything else in between.

To conclude if we win the competition we shall definitely be choosing one each from these options. If we could buy them all we would! We had so much fun creating this post that we have decided to provide you with some more inspiration on how you can glam it up this party season. Be sure to come back next week :)

If you would like to enter the competition you can find more information here

Which one is your favourite shoe?

day to night

Outfit Details
Dress: H&M
Tights: TK Maxx
Shoes: Nine West from Debenhams

Hi guys!

Yesterday I told you guys that I would be showing you how I took my outfit from day to night.  So I took off the skirt, added a pair of simple black tights and switched my boots to a pair of heels. I would have switched my day bag to a clutch, however on this occasion I was already wearing a clutch during the day, seeing as I only had my phone and wallet to carry. Not exactly rocket science but there you go!

What do you think of this dress? At only £3.99, I'm tempted to buy the burgundy one to!

forest green and rusty orange

Outfit Details
Top: H&M
Skirt: Internationale
Bag: Next
Boots: Nine West
Earrings: Dorothy Perkins

Hi Guys! Hope your all well. This is an outfit I wore to meet some friends for lunch. I'm wearing my maxi skirt, with the dress I showed you a few days ago in my H&M haul. I only needed my phone and wallet so opted for this gold clutch to add a bit of sparkle and shine.

I'm sure you guys are tired of seeing this maxi skirt, because I have been living in it lately! When I first did an outfit post with this skirt, I told you guys that this is my first maxi skirt that I had ever bought worn. Now I'm completely in love and wouldn't mind adding a few more maxi's to my wardrobe!

You can see how else I styled it here and here.

Tomorrow I will show you how I made a few simple changes to take this outfit from day to night, so be sure to check back :)

heritage inspired

Coat  £295 Reiss | Bag £229 Hobbs | Boots £150 DUO | Dress £89 Oasis | Shirt £175 MaxMara @ House of Fraser

Happy Monday! Hope you guys had a flying start to the week.

This Heritage inspired autumn look is based around these gorgeous Carvel boots in a tan leather. We love that they are a simple but a classic design. We paired the boots with this checked tweed dress. We love that the dress has a scalloped bottom. We teamed the dress with a burgundy pussybow shirt. We added this structured forest green wool coat which matches the green in the checked pattern on the dress. This coat is perfect to keep you warm and the pleating detail at the bottom makes it more feminine. We accessorised the outfit with a burgundy leather bag to match the blouse and ties the whole outfit together. We would definitely complete the look by adding a pair of burgundy or brown tights to ensure your legs stay warm in the cold weather!

We were inspired to do this look by a competition by DUO boots we spotted yesterday and we decided we would do a last minute entry. This competition is open to UK bloggers. More information can be found here

Best wishes to everyone entering the competition.

indian outfit for navratri

Hey Guys! Just a quick outfit post today to show you guys my outfit for Navratri. These pictures were taken after I came home so I look a bit tired and my hairs all messy so apologies for that!

For those of you unfamiliar with Navratri, it is a Hindu festival lasting nine nights and involves music and dancing, namely the traditional dances called 'Garba' and 'Dandiya Raas'

Hope your enjoying the weekend! Happy Navratri to those of you celebrating! See you soon :)

haul: h&m and primark

Hi Guys! We have a little haul post for you today, it's a rather random collection of a few bits picked up.

Firstly we ordered a few things from the H&M website, from their mid season sale, last week and they finally came through. Have you noticed that H&M take like a year for delivery or does that only happen to us?! Anyway rant over, lets get into it.

H&M Boots £14.99
Boots are essential for autumn/winter, and we thought these looked rather smart, with a classic design, so we both got a pair. They're black so will pair nicely with leggings, skinny jeans, skirts and dresses, basically anything. How we wish we were the same shoe size so we could borrow each others shoes..but hey ho!
H&M Bag £9.99
Radha picked up this aubergine bag, lovely colour for autumn winter, because it's really dark and neutral it will pair nicely with a range of outfits, it's also a nice size for carrying all the essentials.

H&M Dress £3.99

Sita bought this dress. It's a lovely jewel tone green colour, perfect for autumn. It has black panelling on the side in an attempt to make you look thinner and give you that hourglass glass figure.

Sita also went into town and picked up a few things. Unbelievably only two small items from Primark!
Primark Earrings £2.50

I bought these big stud earrings, which are vintage inspired and I thought they looked rather elegant.
Primark Hair Thingamajig £1

I got this hair thingamajig, no idea what it's let me know in the comments if you know! I've been seeing a lot of you tubers using it and rocking a big bun lately. So I thought  for a pound why not see how it works out. I think it will end up being a great option for a bad hair day!

TK Maxx Tights £3.99

Lastly I picked up these tights from TK Maxx. I love the deep red colour and they are really thick so will keep my legs nice and warm during autumn/winter! Although whilst taking a picture I just realise the size is tall! So I may give them to Radha if they are too big when I try them on.

Hope you enjoyed this little haul. Are you guys glad it's Friday? What are your plans for the weekend?

buttons abroad lisboa: elevador de santa justa and MNAC- museu do chiado

It's Thursday, and Thursdays are for travel, which means its time for a Buttons Abroad post. If your not a fan of museums then you may want to click here and see Sita twirling around instead.

Lisbon is a very hilly place. The Santa Justa Elevator is basically a lift that connects the lower streets with a higher street, and has somehow become a tourist attraction. We had read many warnings regarding pickpockets in Lisbon, especially with regards to the elevator and the notorious Tram 28, so we decided to go bright and early to avoid the crowds. And it was rather a good thing we did because we only had to wait for a few minutes before we went up.

At the top there are pleasant views over Rossio square to your left, Baixa district and down towards the River Tagus to your right, and over the Alfama district in front. If you buy a travelcard/daypass with the Carris bus company you can ride the lift for free with the pass. However once you get to the top you have to pay an extra Euro I believe to climb the stairs to the very top.

Both of us definitely enjoy history and ancient art in like we were talking about last week. Modern art to be honest (and rememeber this is our opinion) is not really our cup of tea. However post the Santa Justa Elevator which took all of 10 minutes. We had a few hours to kill, as it was a Sunday and none of the shops had yet open plus it was in the area so we wondered the narrowed streets holding our big paper map like typical tourists until we stumbled upon Museu National de Arte Contemporanea (Museu do Chiado).

But to our surprise it was rather interesting. The exhibition  (which will be running until 28/10/12) was on the art deco period in Portugal from 1912 to 1960. The exhibition was divided across 4-5 sections beginning with the origins of art-deco and followings it's journey through the years. There were examples of sculptures, drawings as well advertising and magazine covers. The works of Almada Negreiros, Eduardo Viana and António Soares was heavily featured in the exhibitions. To conclude the exhibition provided a great insight into the Portuguese art deco period. Definitely worth a wonder if this is something that interests you.

Upon leaving the museum we spent the rest of the day having a wonder around the baixa/chiado area, which was full of shops and cafes. We even managed to get a picture with the bronze Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935) statue! He is a famous poet and writer and in his honour they built the statue outside the cafe which he visited regularly. The architecture in the area is great. Shops and houses are built in the pombaline style, post the 1755 earthquake (Great Lisbon earthquake).
